“You do not go to church; you ARE the church.”

We know the Church is not simply a building but a living mosaic of real people.  In fact, the Apostle Paul refers to the Church as “the body of Christ” and how everyone has a part in it. (1 Cor. 12:27)

But what does it mean to be the church? Understanding Jesus’ relationship with the Church, Paul was spurred to write 1 Cor. 12:31, “31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way…” What is the greater gift? What is the most excellent way? Love. More specifically the love as displayed by Jesus Christ. Because of love Jesus lived, and because of love He also died. Jesus is love in action.

Starting April 30, let’s embark on this 7-Part Series called “Love is ______” based on the truths found in 1 Corinthians 13. What is love? How do we love as a church?
